After discovering The Eldest Daughter dead among The Familiar Ruins, The Father finally made his way back to his home. Beaten and exhausted, The Father silently entered his home. Looking in, the father realized many of his Family had returned, relieved he had not lost all his family he looked around at each of his Children.
The Youngest Daughter Stood and looked on The Father, “Father, did you bring me a gift from your travels?”
The Youngest Son Stood and looked on The Father, “father, have you brought food for the family?”
The Second daughter Stood and, with a face of fear, looked to the floor.
The Second Son Stood, and looked to the ground with shame.
The Third Daughter Stood, looked on her father, and rushed to his side, concerned and frightened.
The Eldest Son looked on his father, and cowered silently in a corner.
The Father looked on his children, “Where is The Third Son? Where is The Mother?”
The Second Daughter did not look up from the ground as she replied, “The mother is there, crossing The Gate behind you.”
The Father Turned turned towards the door. Looking through it, The Father had Hoped to see The Third Son and The Mother, but only saw The Mother slowly returning, carrying Healing Tools and Bindings, to the House with eyes full of sorrow as she walked.
The Father stood looking at The Mother, “I have seen The Eldest Daughter. She is dead.”
The Mother looked into The Fathers eyes, “I know.”
The Father sadly continued, “Have you seen The Third Son?”
The Mother lowered her eyes and gazed at the floor, “He lives. He will return soon.”
Still concerned for The Third Son, The Father passed The Mother and stood by The Gate watching for signs of The Third Son.
Heartbroken, The Mother gently placed the Healing Tools and Bindings with the Family Building Tools. She carefully gathered the tools together taking them as she stood.
The mother took one last look on her beloved children, then beckoned The second daughter to follow.
The father did not look and did not see, his family was cut in two. The mother and The second daughter silently left the Families home, never to return.
