Time passed and the family continued to live in prosperity and peace.
One day, The Third Son was walking the path encompassing his families land, when he happened upon his Sister–the third daughter–sitting, cradling a wounded and dieing creature near the forest edge. The Third son approached and was surprised to find her using The Mother’s Tools of Medicine, attempting to heal the creature.
The third son, asked his sister, “Why do you do this thing. Do you not understand this creature will not live long enough for your efforts to have been any benefit?”
The third sister continued to bind the creatures injuries as she replied lovingly to her brother, “In doing what I can to heal it, I have made myself feel better for having so much when this creature has so little.”
The third son looked at the dieing creature and felt pity for both it and his sister.
The third daughter finished binding the creature, Stood and carefully carried the creature a little way into the forest and gently laid it on the ground, Beside it she left The Mother’s healing tools and bindings, and she then turned to leave.
Seeing she had left The Mother’s tools and bindings the second brother called to his sister, “Why do you leave The Mother’s treasures to these creatures?”
“Perhaps it’s siblings will come, see these tools, and will learn to continue to treat and care for their little brother.” With that, the Third daughter left.
Seeing the creature was still in pain and would probably not recover from it’s injuries, the third son decided to end the creature’s suffering and cut it’s head off. Then wishing to protect his sister’s feelings, after her hard work, The third son took the body and hid it deep in the forest.
